We understand that working in a foreign country has some challenges, so we work hard to ensure that your transition is as simple and hassle free as possible. We will take care of your internship placement, help you find suitable accommodation, introduce you to Australia through our program induction service and assist you with your visa requirements.
Finding a place to stay
As a Navitas Professional Internship Program participant, you have the option of living in a comfortable homestay while you complete your internship. We have partnered with a well-established homestay provider with a network of more than 5000 homestay places across Australia.
The benefits of homestay
A homestay can offer you more than just a place to stay:
- it is the perfect place to practice your English
- you get to immerse yourself in the true Australian culture
- you can make friends faster through your host family and meeting other homestay residents
- it is often cheaper than alternative forms of accommodation.
The costs of homestay
The cost of your homestay will depend on the location and whether you choose to include daily meals. The cost covers:
- a fully furnished bedroom that includes a study desk, chair and lamp
- free gas, electricity and water services (rules apply)
- bed linen, towels, toilet paper and soap

Note: You will also need to budget for other living costs, e.g. food, public transport, entertainment, etc (approx $AU500 – 1500 per month).
Program Induction Service
There is a lot to take in when you arrive in a foreign country. That is why we offer you a program induction before you start your internship. It gives you the chance to:
- discover what to expect from your internship experience
- learn about the resources and support services available during your stay
- be introduced to Australian workplace culture
- get your head around Australian culture and slang
- understand what it means to live in Australia
- find out about other Navitas study options.
English language training
Before you can start your internship, you will need to have a certain level of proficiency in your written and spoken English. If your skills do not meet the program requirements or if you would like to improve your existing skills, you can undertake English language training.
We have partnered with several leading education providers throughout Australia to bring you the best in English language training.
You can choose to study with:
- Navitas English – Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Bondi, Cairns,
- Hawthorn English – Melbourne

Get yourself covered
It is a prerequisite for all applicants of the program to have adequate health, travel and liability insurance before arriving in Australia. We offer comprehensive insurance cover through Mondial Insurance.
This insurance option* provides you with the following cover:

Exclusive Airport Pickup Service
We offer an exclusive airport pickup service. When you arrive in Australia, we can arrange private transportation straight to your accommodation. The cost of this service is $120.00 per person.
